Superman #79 is part of DC Comics’ landmark “Reign of the Supermen” storyline, following the death of Clark Kent and the emergence of four powerful figures claiming the Superman mantle. Written and illustrated by Dan Jurgens, with inks by Brett Breeding, this July 1993 issue explores the mystery surrounding one of Superman’s most dangerous successors.
In “Prove It,” Daily Planet reporter Ronald Troupe sets out to establish himself as a worthy successor to Clark Kent by investigating the identity of Cyborg Superman. When a terrorist attack strikes Washington, D.C., Ronald witnesses the mysterious hero in action and uncovers evidence that appears to confirm his claim. But as Cyborg Superman gains access to the White House’s computer systems, his growing influence raises questions about his true intentions.
