Rann/Thanagar War #5 (2005)

Rann-Thanagar War #5 raises the stakes as the conflict between Rann and Thanagar reaches a devastating turning point. Published by DC Comics in 2005 as part of the buildup to Infinite Crisis, this penultimate chapter, titled “Betrayed,” was written by Dave Gibbons with artwork from Ivan Reis, Joe Prado, and Joe Bennett.

The fragile alliances surrounding Adam Strange, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, and their allies begin to collapse when a major betrayal changes the course of the war. As Onimar Synn closes in and the heroes fight to protect Rann and its people, the issue delivers a major loss and sets the stage for the final confrontation.
