JSA Annual #1 (2000)

JSA Annual #1 (2000) introduces a mysterious new figure to the DC Universe as part of the “Planet DC” annual event. Published in October 2000, the 48-page special features the first appearance of Nemesis (Soseh Mykros) and brings the JSA into conflict with the dangerous Council.

The issue is split into two stories, “Genesis” and “Sisters.” Nemesis finds herself caught in the Council’s plans while Black Canary, Hawkgirl, Stargirl, and Wonder Woman join forces against the organization and its powerful forces. The backup story explores Nemesis’ origins and her complicated connection to the Council.
