Detective Comics #48 (2016)

Detective Comics #48 continues Peter J. Tomasi’s run featuring Jim Gordon as Gotham City’s armored Batman. Titled “The Bronze Age: Blood of Heroes,” this 2016 DC Comics issue combines gritty police investigation with the challenges Gordon faces while protecting Gotham in the Batman role.

After returning to Gotham from the Robin War and his travels with the Justice League, Jim Gordon turns his attention to a cold case from his days as a police officer. As he digs into the past, the investigation threatens to affect not only his own future but also the legacy of Batman. With Batgirl and other familiar Gotham figures in the mix, the mystery adds another layer to Gordon’s evolving role as the Dark Knight.
